The Czech Republic has received its first CV90 MkIV infantry fighting vehicle, marking the beginning of a SEK 22 billion ($2.2 billion) program to modernize its ground forces.
A total of 246 vehicles will be delivered by 2030, with 39 produced in Sweden and 207 in the Czech Republic. The phased delivery schedule will allow the Czech Army to train crews, integrate the platform into its mechanized brigades, and maintain operational readiness.
The CV90 MkIV provides a combination of mobility, firepower, and protection. Equipped with a 30 mm Bushmaster II cannon, advanced fire control systems, modular armor, and active protection, the vehicle is designed to operate across high-intensity conflict and peacekeeping missions.
The program ensures 40 percent Czech industry participation, including local production, integration, and access to BAE Systems’ global supply chain.
