Anduril Industries Acquires American Infrared Solutions to Boost Sensor Capabilities

Anduril Industries announced on October 20 the acquisition of American Infrared Solutions (AIRS), a U.S. manufacturer of high-performance cooled infrared cameras and components.

The acquisition will integrate AIRS’s hardware into Anduril’s mission systems and expand its offerings to defense, space, and commercial customers.

AIRS has been a long-time supplier to Anduril, providing critical infrared technology used across air, land, sea, and space platforms. With the acquisition, Anduril will also sell AIRS’s cooled infrared cameras and components as a merchant supplier.

AIRS’s products will join Anduril’s existing imaging systems, including the Iris long-range optical sensor and the Wisp 360-degree infrared camera, enhancing day and night detection, tracking, and surveillance for fixed and mobile operations.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
