TKMS hands Over Second of Six HDW Class Submarines to Turkish Navy
TKMS has officially delivered the second of six HDW class NTSP submarines in a ceremonial handover on Nov 25.

The vessel, TCG Hızırreis, was handed over from the Gölcük Naval Shipyard to Turkey’s defence procurement authority SSB, and then to the Turkish Navy.

The first submarine in the series was delivered in October 2024.

Under the cooperation agreement, TKMS provides the design, supplies all materials, and oversees construction and testing.

Each vessel will also undergo an 18-month warranty period after delivery.

Production of the remaining four submarines is progressing, and according to GNSY’s schedule, the third boat is expected to be delivered in about one year.
