Kongsberg has signed a €500 million contract with Denmark to supply the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS).

NASAMS includes Raytheon radars, Kongsberg’s Fire Distribution Center, multi-missile launchers, and support for AMRAAM, AMRAAM-Extended Range, and AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles.

NASAMS’ modular structure and open architecture allow ongoing upgrades and integration of new technologies. Denmark becomes the 14th user of NASAMS and the eighth NATO member to adopt the system.

The contract follows Denmark’s June plan to acquire short-range systems from MBDA, Diehl Defence, and Kongsberg Gruppen in a procurement valued above DKr6bn ($919 million). It also comes after the U.S. Department of State’s September approval of a potential $8.5 billion sale of IBCS-enabled Patriot systems to Denmark.
