U.K.'s Rotron Aerospace Ltd. has signed a long-term Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea's LIG Nex1 Co., Ltd. to collaborate on the development and integration of next-generation unmanned aerial systems for domestic and international programmes.
The agreement was signed at Rotron’s headquarters in Dorset and establishes a strategic partnership running through 2032. The collaboration will centre on the Medium UAV Common Platform programme, associated follow-on projects, and other initiatives in South Korea and global markets where Rotron’s propulsion systems and unmanned aviation platforms can be applied.
The partnership will combine Rotron’s propulsion technologies with LIG Nex1’s capabilities in system architecture, integration, and testing. The companies said the cooperation is intended to accelerate development timelines and enhance sovereign capability for programmes in the Korean and Pacific Rim regions.
The MoU also outlines joint efforts aimed at positioning the two companies for future export opportunities across multiple markets.
