The U.S. State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Denmark of Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles – Extended Range and related equipment for an estimated cost of up to $951 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress.
Denmark has requested to buy up to 236 AMRAAM-ER missiles and five AIM-120-C8 guidance sections, along with trainers, containers, spare parts, software, technical documentation, and U.S. government and contractor support, in a deal valued at up to $951 million.
The proposed sale will improve Denmark’s capability to meet current and future threats by ensuring it has modern, capable air-to-air munitions for its aircraft, and surface-to-air munitions for its ground-based air defenses, the DSCA said in its official release Monday.
The principal contractor will be RTX Corporation.
