Myanmar is demolishing illegal buildings in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas of Myawady Township as part of a crackdown on online scams and illegal gambling.

According to official sources, joint teams of security personnel, administrative authorities, and local officials are carrying out clearance operations to dismantle infrastructure linked to cybercrime.

On Tuesday, three four-storey illegal buildings in the KK Park area were demolished. With these actions, 491 out of 635 identified illegal structures in the area have now been dismantled.

Authorities said inspections are ongoing across Myawady Township, with several buildings sealed to prevent reuse.

Items seized from scam and gambling operations have also been destroyed.

The government stated that eliminating online scams and illegal gambling is a national responsibility and said operations will continue in cooperation with domestic forces and neighbouring countries
