Textron Systems Unveils New Uncrewed Surface Vessel for U.S. Navy

Textron Systems has launched its fifth-generation Multi Mission Uncrewed Surface Vessel to expand U.S. Navy options for combat, mine warfare, and intelligence missions.

The platform offers longer range and higher endurance compared with earlier variants. The MMUSV carries up to 13,000 pounds, doubling the fuel and payload capacity of previous craft. It is designed to operate in sea conditions up to Sea State 5 and tow loads exceeding 4,000 pounds.

In August 2025, Textron Systems was awarded the Low-Cost Unmanned Maritime Solution (Large) contract through the Expeditionary Mission Consortium-Crane to develop, test, and deliver the MMUSV.

Textron Systems developed the CUSV for the U.S. Navy’s Unmanned Influence Sweep System and continues to support the Littoral Combat Ship mine countermeasures mission through multi-year contracts covering sustainment, maintenance, payload production, and next-generation minesweeping development.
