The U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines have awarded L3Harris Technologies a contract to deliver 34 large T7 robots for explosive ordnance disposal missions.

The robots are designed to allow personnel to identify and neutralize explosive threats from a distance, limiting direct exposure during hazardous operations. L3Harris said the T7 systems are built for mobility, manipulation, and remote control in complex environments.

Deliveries under the multi-year contract are scheduled to begin in 2026. The agreement also includes comprehensive operator training and system support.

The award follows a U.S. Air Force order for more than 100 robotic systems placed in 2021. The Australian Defence Force and the U.K. Ministry of Defence also operate large T7 and medium-sized T4 robots for explosive ordnance disposal missions, according to L3Harris.
