KNDS France, BARZAN Holdings to Localize Ammunition Manufacturing in Qatar

KNDS France and BARZAN Holdings have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to cooperate on developing local ammunition manufacturing capabilities in Qatar.

The LoI was signed on 20 January at the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX).

The agreement sets out a framework for cooperation to build local industrial capacity for medium- and large-caliber ammunition in support of Qatar’s national defense objectives and efforts to strengthen a resilient regional supply chain.

Under the LoI, both sides will explore localization opportunities across key areas of ammunition manufacturing, with a focus on meeting operational requirements while complying with defined standards for quality, safety and performance. The cooperation includes plans for technology transfer and long-term industrial partnership.
