Elbit Systems’ PULS (Precise & Universal Launching System) long-range rocket launcher made its first public appearance in India during the Republic Day Army parade in New Delhi.
Mounted on a military truck, the system was among the few ground platforms showcased, marking the first delivery of PULS launchers to the Indian Army as part of a complete long-range fires capability.
PULS is a modular rocket artillery system capable of firing multiple munitions from a single launcher.
It was displayed with the EXTRA precision-guided rocket and the Predator Hawk missile, offering engagement ranges from tens to several hundred kilometers.
Its open architecture allows integration on different vehicle platforms and adaptation to local operational needs.
The program is being executed with a local prime contractor, with launcher production in India under the “Make in India” framework.
The indigenous variant, designated SuryAstra, supports India’s long-term plan for a domestically produced long-range fires capability. An initial emergency procurement contract covers two launchers, munitions, and support, with live-fire trials expected to determine future expansion.
