The Turkish Armed Forces are preparing to induct two new ground-based electronic warfare systems in 2026, expanding their land-based spectrum warfare capabilities through the delivery of the domestically developed KORAL-2 and ILGAR-2 systems.

KORAL-2 is a mobile radar electronic warfare system developed by ASELSAN to support enemy air defence suppression operations. The system is designed to detect, analyse and counter hostile radar threats while operating in complex environmental conditions. It combines electronic support and electronic attack functions in a single system architecture.

Operations are conducted from a dedicated control unit staffed by two operators and a supervisor. One operator is responsible for detection, signal analysis and direction finding, while the second manages jamming, deception and emitter assignment. The supervisor coordinates system activity and communication with other KORAL-2 units and command elements. KORAL-2 has been developed in accordance with NATO standards and includes nuclear, biological, radiological and nuclear protection features.

ILGAR-2 is a mobile V/UHF electronic warfare system designed to counter enemy communication systems across multiple platforms. The system is intended to disrupt or deceive hostile communications to provide operational advantages to friendly forces.

The system incorporates a high-power radio frequency amplifier covering a wide frequency range, a high-speed excitation infrastructure and a wideband receiver with large instantaneous bandwidth. These features enable reactive jamming and allow the system to counter frequency-hopping communication signals in the field.
