Poland held a keel-laying ceremony 'Ratownik,' the military’s new naval rescue ship at the PGZ Naval Shipyard in Gdynia on February 4.

The ship intended to support maritime rescue and crisis response operations in the Baltic Sea.

The vessel will be about 96 m long with a displacement of around 6,500 tons. It will be equipped with a hyperbaric complex, decompression chambers, a diving bell, and systems designed to operate with the NATO Submarine Rescue System.

The ship is expected to conduct rescue operations at depths of up to 300 m and remain at sea for several weeks without resupply. It will also feature a helicopter landing pad, remotely operated vehicles for seabed inspection, and navigation and underwater systems to support rescue missions.
