Embraer and the Mahindra Group have announced plans to establish a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India for the C-390 Millennium, subject to its selection under the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) programme.

The plan follows a Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed in October 2025 to jointly pursue production of the aircraft in India.

The proposed facility would provide comprehensive in-country sustainment support, including heavy maintenance, structural inspections, component overhaul, avionics services and training.

According to Embraer,  The initiative would enhance operational readiness for the Indian Air Force and could also position India as a regional MRO hub for other C-390 operators. Embraer currently has nearly 50 aircraft operating in India across commercial, defence and business aviation segments.
