Israel’s Ministry of Defense has launched an air and sea transport operation to deliver military equipment and ammunition to the Israel Defense Forces, citing preparations to expand fighting (with Iran) to additional arenas.
In a statement, the ministry said it had begun operating what it described as an “air and sea train” to supply the IDF as part of readiness measures linked to a potential widening of the conflict. The first cargo planes carrying various types of munitions and military equipment landed in Israel within the past 24 hours.
Defense Minister Israel Katz and the ministry’s director general, Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, defined ensuring the ministry’s longevity and continuity of function as their top priority, according to the statement. The ministry said these steps are part of preparations to expand fighting to additional arenas.
The transportation effort, referred to as Operation Harry’s Roar, is expected to intensify in the coming days. It is being carried out jointly by the Defense Procurement Directorate at the Ministry of Defense, including the unit responsible for international defense transportation, procurement missions in the U.S. and Germany, the IDF Planning and Force Building Division, the Airports Authority, and the Civil Aviation Authority.
The ministry did not specify which additional arenas could be involved or provide further operational details.
