The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced it has carried out a wave of airstrikes targeting command centers and intelligence infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in the Beirut area.
At least 52 people are killed and 154 others injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes in Beirut and southern Lebanon since Monday, Lebanese Disaster Management Unit said Israeli warplanes carried out 221 airstrikes in the country since early Monday.
According to the military, the strikes hit command facilities, weapons storage sites, and satellite communication components allegedly used for intelligence and operational planning under civilian cover.
The IDF said it issued advance warnings and used precision-guided munitions to reduce civilian harm.
In a separate operation, the IDF confirmed the killing of Rida Hazaa’i in Beirut, describing him as a senior Hezbollah figure acting on behalf of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force.
The military said he was responsible for strengthening Hezbollah’s capabilities, coordinating with Iran, facilitating weapons transfers, and overseeing local arms production.
The IDF also stated that its soldiers are operating in southern Lebanon and are positioned at several points near the border as part of an enhanced forward defense posture. The military said it is continuing targeted strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure.
