The first Embraer C-390 Millennium for the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) successfully completed its maiden flight on Wednesday.
The aircraft will now enter a period of testing and integration of specific systems to meet the requirements of the first Asian operator, Embraer posted on X.
Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, said in an earlier statement, "This aircraft represents advanced multi-mission capabilities and reliability backed by engineering excellence for ROKAF."
The ROKAF ordered three Embraer C-390 Millennium tactical transport aircraft in 2023 for its Large Transport Aircraft II (LTA-II) program.
The contract, valued at roughly 710 billion won ($473 million), includes a support package, training, and an offset deal for local industrial participation. The first of these aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2026.
