Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli strikes have killed two more Iranian nuclear scientists in recent days, as operations against Iran and Hezbollah continue.
In a statement today, Netanyahu said he had spoken with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the possibility of aligning military outcomes with broader war objectives through a potential agreement.
“We are crushing the missile program and the nuclear program, and continuing to inflict severe blows on Hezbollah. Just days ago, we eliminated two more nuclear scientists—and the hand is still outstretched,” Netanyahu said.
On March 12, Netanyahu stated that Israeli strikes killed a senior Iranian nuclear scientist and targeted several others. As of March 2026, Israeli authorities have confirmed multiple operations aimed at what they describe as efforts to roll back Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Among those reported killed in recent months is Mohammad Reza Seddiqi Saber, a senior scientist linked to the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), where he headed a group focused on explosives-related work. Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani, a former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), was also killed; he had previously survived an assassination attempt in 2010. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, a theoretical physicist and president of Islamic Azad University, was killed in the same wave of strikes.
The targeting of Iranian nuclear scientists has a longer history. In November 2020, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, widely described as the “father of the Iranian bomb,” was killed near Tehran in an attack involving a remotely operated weapon system.
