German KNDS Deutschland and Israel’s Elbit Systems have announced the formation of a joint venture, EuroPULS GmbH, to produce the EuroPULS multiple launch rocket system for European customers.

The new entity, headquartered in Kassel, will be equally owned by both companies. The joint venture aims to promote and manufacture the EuroPULS system, also referred to as MARS 3, across Europe.

The announcement comes as the system recently underwent its first test firings on German territory. These tests involved a 122-mm training rocket developed by Diehl Defence, based on the Israeli Accular rocket.

Under the partnership, Elbit Systems will supply the PULS launcher technology, while KNDS Deutschland will integrate fire control systems and leverage its customer network in Europe.

Germany has already ordered five EuroPULS launchers under an intergovernmental agreement with the Netherlands and Israel to establish an initial operational capability. Delivery and certification of these systems are scheduled for 2027.

The Bundeswehr is also planning a broader framework agreement to procure around 500 MARS 3 systems. About half of these units are intended for Germany, while the remaining systems are expected to be offered to allied countries at the same pricing.
