The U.S. Department of State has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Singapore to buy Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System-Alternative Warhead and related equipment worth $83.14 million.
The Government of Singapore has requested to buy forty-five (45) M30A2 guided multiple launch rocket system-alternative warhead pods. The following non-major defense equipment items will also be included: telemetry kits; engineering services; technical assistance; and other related elements of logistics and program support.
The proposed sale will improve Singapore’s defensive capability to shield the allies who train and operate within their borders, improve its ability to meet current and future threats, and increase regional stability. Singapore will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces.
The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin, located in Bethesda, Maryland.
The M30E1 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System – Alternate Warhead (GMLRS-AW) surface-to-surface rocket will meet the DOD unexploded ordnance policy requirements and replace the non-compliant GMLRS Dual-Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions rocket.
