Ukraine has tested a new generation of FPV drone that promises longer range and greater destructive capability, besides immunity from electronic warfare systems.
According to Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, during tests the devices covered distances of up to 25 km and hit targets in conditions of counteraction to various types of electronic warfare.
Some of the samples fully fulfilled the assigned tasks in conditions as close as possible to combat ones.
However, technical characteristics of the new drones such as range, explosive capacity and protection from EW sysems are not disclosed.
Regular product testing was implemented in interaction with the Brave1 cluster. If the drone proves its effectiveness in combat conditions, the contracting and production scaling procedure is immediately launched.
FPV (first person view) drones have become the principal means of close-in attack in the Ukraine-Russia war. Both sides have developed various types of FPV drones with different features. These small drones are difficult to spot and intercept but can hit both individual soldiers as well as armored vehicles and tanks.
