Russian Deputy PM, Indian Defence Minister visit BrahMos pavilion
Indian Defence Minister A.K. Anthony and Deputy Prime Minister of the Govt. of Russian Federation, Sergei Sobyanin, visited the BrahMos Aerospace pavilion at Defexpo 2010 and appreciated the Joint Venture. The two leaders who separately visited the Brahmos stand where various models of the multi-role missile were escorted by Brahmos CEO Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai who explained to them the various features of the missile which has become a huge success in the Indian defence market with an order book of over 200 missiles from the Indian Army and Navy. The missile has become internationally famous as the only supersonic cruise missile which can be launched from land, sea and air. Brahmos recently proved its precision targeting capability to the Indian army by hitting a small target from among a cluster of buildings. Brahmos is soon to begin a new phase, that of trails of its air-launched version and sea trials in the Baltic sea which will further consolidate the cooperation between the two partner countries.
