The French government has informed the Israeli Ministry of Defense (MoD) of its decision to ban the State of Israel from official participation in the EUROSATORY exhibition which is scheduled to take place later this month in Paris.
As a result, the Ministry of Defense will not be able to participate in the exhibition and will not be able to set up a national pavilion there.
Strongly opposing Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, France has said that the scale of Israel’s operations in Lebanon cannot be justified and is a “major strategic mistake.” This could be the reason for banning Israel from the Eurosatory fiar.
The French decision includes: a ban on government representatives participating in the exhibition, a ban on opening an Israeli national pavilion, and a ban on Israeli defense industries displaying offensive weapons, but only air defense products.
“This is a shameful decision that reeks heavily of political and commercial considerations, and unfortunately, is not surprising. The decision fits disturbingly with a consistent trend in French behavior in recent years, which has repeatedly placed France on the wrong side of history,” the Israeli MoD said in a statement.
Our weapons are better than yours: Israel to France
Paris is covering itself up with a false political consideration in order to exclude from an international exhibition Israeli offensive weapons whose quality is immeasurably better than that of France.
This is after Israeli technologies demonstrated exceptional performance in terms of precision and effectiveness against terrorist organizations and regimes that threaten not only Israel, but also regional and global stability as a whole, it said.
Israel has always been a major exhibitor at Eurosatory shocasing a wide variety of artillery system, land vehicles and ammunition. Its companies have also announced a major deals at the fair.
The last iteration of Eurosatory too saw Israeli companies banned from the fair for Israel's genocide in Gaza.
