70 Civilians killed, 360 Injured in Ukrainian Strikes on Russian Economic Targets

Nearly 70 civilians have been killed and 360 injured in strikes by Ukrainian drones and missiles on Russian warehouses and other civilian targets over the past week.

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told TASS that Kiev fired a total of over 7,100 munitions into Russian regions in just one week.

"The largest number of casualties from Kiev’s attacks was recorded in the Belgorod Region, in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), as well as in the Zaporozhye, Kherson and Moscow regions," he said.

"We are responding, justly, to every Russian strike against our cities and communities," Zelesky said. "This war must be brought to an end, and that is only possible by increasing the pressure on the sole cause of this war – Russia," Ukrainian President Zelensky wrote on X after the attacks.

Ukrainian forces attacked medical facilities and medical transport. For instance, in Gorlovka, DPR, three ambulance crew members were injured in a drone strike. "In the Belgorod Region’s Shebekinsky district the facade, windows and roof of the Novo-Tavolzhanskaya Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation were damaged as a result of FPV drone attacks," Miroshnik added.

In addition, the enemy continued to remotely mine civilian facilities using drones. For example, in the Sevsky district of the Bryansk Region, a driver was injured by an explosive device, and two civilians were injured in Gorlovka, DPR.

UN Calls Ukrainian strikes a war crime

The UN called the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on Russian warehouses a war crime.

According to the organization's representative, deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure are contrary to international humanitarian law.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights stated that deliberate attacks on civilian targets could constitute a war crime. The agency's spokesperson, Tamin Al-Khitan, made the statement at a briefing in Geneva, commenting on reports of attacks on logistics facilities in the Tambov and Moscow regions.
