China unveiled the “Wing Loong” attack drone model at the Paris Air show today, its first display outside China.
The Wing Loong, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), developed by the China Aviation Industry Corporation bears a striking resemblance to the United States' larger MQ-9 Reaper, but is similar in size to its MQ-1 Predator.
The drone is armed with two underwing missiles, and weighs 1.1 tonnes, is nine metres long and has a 14-metre wingspan and can fly at a maximum altitude of 5,300 metres with a range of 4,000 kilometres, according to the reports.
This drone occupies a large display area at the Paris air show and the drone attracted significant attention from Air Force officials of various countries.
The display of the China’s attack drone has the possibility of increasing its market value, which is priced at $1 million each, according to the reports.
