BAE to Provide Systems Engineering, Integration Services In Support Of Weapons Systems
Trident II (D5) SLBM

BAE Systems has won a $29 million modification contract to provide systems engineering and integration services in support of the Trident II (D5) strategic weapons system, the SSGN attack weapon system, and strategic weapon surety.  

Trident II (D5), a Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM), is a three-stage, solid-propellant, inertial-guided ballistic missile. The missile can carry multiple independently targeted reentry bodies for a maximum range of over 7,360km. It is 13.41m long, weighs 130,000lbs (58,500kg). All the three stages of the Trident II have a graphite epoxy structure.

Work is expected to be completed by September 30, 2019, United States Department of Defense said in a statement Friday.
