Ukraine’s helicopters conducted an airstrike on Russia’s Belgorod city, just north of Ukraine's border, damaging Tekhsapfir enterprise.
Employees of the enterprise, located in the Severny urban-type settlement near Belgorod, were evacuated due to mine clearance.
"We were all evacuated. The projectile will be cleared," a representative of the plant's management told Interfax on Friday.
As a result of the airstrike, there is little damage to the building of the enterprise, he said.
"Techsapphire" is engaged in the cultivation and processing of sapphires.
A large fire has been reported at an oil-storage facility in Belgorod, which regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov is alleged was a result of helicopter strikes. According to Russian state media reported that eight fuel tanks are on fire and nearby areas are being evacuated. Talks between Ukraine and Russia are set to resume by video conference on Friday.
Earlier it became known about the damage as a result of an airstrike by Ukrainian helicopters of the building of the Constanta printing house, which is also located in Severny.
Early Friday morning, a Ukrainian airstrike caused a fire at an oil depot in Belgorod. Tanks are being extinguished. There were no casualties. Residents of nearby streets have been moved to a safe location.
