U.A.E. Orders Indonesian Warship, French Radars at IDEX 2023

The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) placed orders for an Indonesian warship and a Thales-made radar on Day 1 of the IDEX and NAVDEX international exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, Official Spokesman of Tawazun Council, announced the contracts Tawazun Council signed with international companies on February 20.

They include an AED 1.5 billion contract with Indonesia’s PT Pal for the procurement of multi-mission vessel. Another contract worth AED 421 million was signed with Thales for the procurement of GM403 radars.

The U.A.E. also inked a AED 202 million contract with U.S. company Allant Techsystems for ammunition, AED 92 million contract with MBDA to provide missiles’ technical support services and another AED 3 million contract with Germany’s Rhode & Schwartz to provide communication systems’ technical support.
