The Rostec State Corporation has delivered a batch of 2B24 light mortars of 82 mm caliber to the Russian army.

These mortars are suitable for infantry units, including mountain rifle units. The use of modern materials has reduced the weight of the weapon, allowing a crew of several people to carry the gun and ammunition manually. This capability enables non-motorized infantry units to use the mortars in difficult terrains such as forests and mountains. The 2B24 can be deployed quickly, with crews able to set up the mortar in 30 seconds.

The 2B24 mortar features a circular firing plate, enabling it to fire from any type of soil. The effectiveness of the mortars is enhanced when used with modern guidance and control systems, such as UAVs, according to Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the conventional weapons and special chemicals cluster of Rostec.

Rostec produces a range of fire systems and ammunition, including the self-propelled guns "Msta-S" and "Malva," the self-propelled mortar "Drok," and the towed mortar 2B11.
