Russian Forces shot down some 101 Ukrainian UAVs on Friday including a few ultra long range "Palnitsya" missile/drone in various border areas around Kursk.

The Russian MoD released images of a downed  "Palnitsya" drone some  20 km from Kursk, near the village of Kolodnoye where a crew of the Pantsir-S1 air defense system  intercepted the jet-powered "kamikaze" UAV of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).

Giving the break-up of the 101 drones destroyed, the MoD said 53 fell over the Bryansk region, 18 In Krasnodar Krai, 5 in Kaluga, 3 in Tver and one each in Smolensk, Kursk and Crimea. Besides, Another 16 UAVs were neutralized over the Sea of ​​Azov.

Ukraine's most lethal drone, "Palyanitsa", has a range of 700-800 km and a maximum speed of about 500-530 km/h. The weapon was first revealed in a video was shared by President Zelenskyy on August 25 2024.

The missile/drone was reportedly used in the devastating attack on the ammunition depot for artillery weapons in the Tver region located some 380 km west of Moscow on September 18.
