A couple of days after Ukrainian President Zelensky announced his "Victory Plan," former U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to withdraw U.S. military support for Kyiv if he became president.

Instead, Trump advocated a negotiation settlement stating that Russia has never lost a war in modern times. He was speaking at an election rally in Atlanta in the U.S. Trump said that the U.S. has donated $300 billion in military aid to Ukraine without receiving anything in return.

Zelensky's "victory plan" advocates a total defeat of Russia using long range U.S. and Western European weapons and his country's entry into NATO which will force other NATO partners to come to the defense of Ukraine.

Trump further alleged that "(President Joe) Biden and Kamala (Harris) got us into this war in Ukraine, and now they can't get us out," while promising to "settle the war in Ukraine" if elected.

"We're stuck in that war unless I'm president. I’ll get it done. I’ll get it negotiated. I’ll get out. We gotta get out," Trump said.

He also described President Zelensky as "the greatest salesman on Earth," alleging that each of Zelensky's visits to the U.S. results in receiving "a hundred billion."

Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, confirmed that Ukraine’s NATO accession is central to President Zelensky’s Victory Plan. Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations, Yermak urged Ukraine’s partners to ignore Russian threats of escalation and to increase investment in Ukrainian arms production, which has risen sixfold since the invasion. He also emphasized the need for Ukraine to strike Russian targets and utilize frozen Russian assets.

In an interview, Zelensky stated that the war might end sooner than expected, emphasizing that military support is key to victory. He rejected negotiations with Russia, instead advocating for increased pressure on President Vladimir Putin.
