Otokar, a Turkish defense manufacturer, announced it has won a 32 billion lira tender (more than $930 million) for the export of COBRA II 4×4 Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicles to Romania.
The tender, launched by CN Romtehnica SA, a company under the Romanian Ministry of National Defense, aims to procure 1,059 COBRA II armored vehicles and includes integrated logistics support services.
Following the completion of technical evaluations, field tests, and commercial assessments, the tender authority officially invited Otokar to enter contract negotiations. The deal, valued at approximately 4.26 billion RON (Romanian Leu), will see the first 278 vehicles produced at Otokar's facilities, while the remainder will be manufactured in Romania under a partnership framework to be determined.
The program's final budget and schedule will be defined upon the conclusion of negotiations between Romtehnica and Otokar.
