The IDF Medical Corps has evacuated some 1,800 wounded soldiers since the beginning of the war in Gaza and Lebanon, the military said on Tuesday.
In the northern front, the rescue teams evacuated some 200 wounded soldiers while in the South some 1,600 soldiers were evacuated.
The Defense Ministry’s Rehabilitation Department said that some 12,000 individuals had been wounded since the war began on October 7, 2023.
Four Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza Fighting
Four Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza and another succumbed to injuries sustained earlier, the IDF said.
150 Palestinians massacred in 24 hours
Some 150 Palestinians were massacred and 44 buried under the rubble in Gaza in one of the bloodiest 24 hours for the besieged enclave ending Tuesday.
The Government Media Office in Gaza has said that the targeted residential buildings housed more than 200 civilians, mostly children and women, displaced from their residential neighborhoods.
The municipality of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza declared Wednesday the city a disaster zone due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and continuous shelling and air strikes.
The municipality reported that "the city is without food, water, hospitals, doctors, essential services, or means of communication," urging a safe corridor to deliver medical supplies, food, fuel, civil defense equipment, and ambulances.
Arabic publication Al Mayadeen reported "over 150 people have been martyred in recent hours amid ongoing massacres across the Gaza Strip." Meanwhile, heavy Israeli bombardment has continued to target the besieged area of Jabalia in northern Gaza.
Israeli airstrikes hit a tent in Deir al-Balah and another in the Pyramids area northwest of Khan Younis, resulting in the death of at least three people and injuries to others.
In Khan Younis' Sheikh Nasser neighborhood, several residents lost their lives in an Israeli strike on a home. Another attack on a house in Sheikh Nasser killed three individuals, including a child and a woman.
