Joint-Stock Company "Ukrainian Defense Industry" (Ukroboronprom) has signed an agreement to establish joint production of Roshel armored vehicles in Ukraine.
Under the agreement, a Ukrainian enterprise will receive technical documentation and components for manufacturing the vehicles. Local production would accelerate deliveries to combat units, strengthen Ukraine’s economy, and provide access to advanced technologies.
This collaboration is part of Ukraine’s gradual integration into the defense-industrial base of Western countries, Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin stated.
Oleg Hulyak, General Director of Ukroboronprom, highlighted that localizing Western armored vehicle production demonstrates Ukraine’s adaptive manufacturing capabilities while continuing to develop its own tanks and armored combat vehicles.
Roshel, a Canadian defense company, has already delivered 1,400 Senator armored vehicles to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The company also operates service centers in Ukraine and previously announced plans to invest tens of millions of dollars in building a plant focused on Ukrainian and European markets.
In December, Roshel launched production in the United States and is considering opening a plant in Poland.
