Patria and Distance Technologies have announced a collaboration under the Patria-led eALLIANCE program to develop a mixed reality heads-up display (HUD) for Patria’s 6x6 defense vehicles.

The system will use Distance’s patented glasses-free XR technology to display real-time 3D tactical data directly on the vehicle’s windshield, eliminating the need for external hardware or headsets.

The project aims to enhance situational awareness in low-visibility battlefield conditions, such as darkness and smoke, by integrating advanced sensor fusion and military AI data streams. The technology enables drivers and commanders to maintain full tactical awareness without diverting attention to separate screens, improving operational effectiveness and safety.

The collaboration is part of the eALLIANCE program, partially funded by Business Finland, which seeks to advance digital capabilities for Finnish defense and dual-use applications.
