Rostec subsidiary High-Precision Systems Holding Company has delivered a batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles to Russian troops.
The vehicles were modernized based on combat experience gained in Ukraine.
“The new batch of BMP-3s was shipped by High-Precision Systems and features a number of improvements. Each vehicle is equipped with a more modern electronic warfare system. Underbody protection has been reinforced against blast damage, and the spall resistance of the front and rear armor has been increased,” said Bekkhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of the Armament Cluster at Rostec State Corporation and a member of the Bureau of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia.
The current standard configuration of the BMP-3 differs from vehicles delivered to the main customer before the start of the conflict in Ukraine. Over the past four years, dozens of design changes have been implemented. These include additional protection kits such as side skirts, grilles, upper hemisphere protection kits, and stealth equipment, as well as specialized instruments and systems intended to improve mobility and weapons effectiveness.
