A U.S.-based technology company has completed the acquisition of U.K.-based defense firm Rotron Aerospace Ltd., integrating its capabilities in unmanned aircraft and propulsion systems into a broader autonomous systems portfolio.
The deal places Rotron within the acquiring company’s autonomous systems division, with a focus on expanding the development and deployment of long-range unmanned platforms and propulsion technologies for defense and security customers in the U.K., NATO and allied markets.
Rotron, founded in the U.K., develops both unmanned aircraft and the propulsion systems that power them, operating across propulsion, autonomy and platform design. Its approach focuses on producing attritable platforms designed for range, scalability and operational resilience.
The company’s portfolio includes long-endurance vertical take-off and landing systems and uncrewed combat aerial vehicles designed for autonomous precision engagement. Its propulsion technologies are intended to support extended range, endurance and payload flexibility in operational conditions.
Following completion of the transaction, Rotron will continue to operate from the U.K., retaining its engineering, manufacturing and development teams while maintaining existing customer programmes. The company will also be integrated into a wider autonomous systems portfolio with additional investment.
