Indonesia has signed a contract with Turkey for the supply of 12 units of Bayraktar KIZILELMA conbat  drones with supplies targeted to begin in 2028.

The agreement signed at the Saha Expo in Istanbul today, includes an option for additional 4.

Haluk BAYRAKTAR of Baykar stated, “We have signed our first export agreement for Bayraktar KIZILELMA with Indonesia. Under the agreement, deliveries of a fleet of 12 Bayraktar KIZILELMA drones are targeted to begin in 2028. The agreement also includes an option for an additional 4 fleets.”

The agreement covers not only the supply of the system but also the establishment of a local production and maintenance center in Indonesia for upkeep and maintenance.

Indonesia had previously signed contracts for Bayraktar AKINCI and Bayraktar TB2. KIZILELMA became the third different type of UAV exported to that country.

With serial production activities accelerating by 2026 , Bayraktar KIZILELMA is expected to play a critical role in the modernization process of the Indonesian Air Force under this contract.

The agreement covers not only the supply of products but also the integration of the technological ecosystem between the two countries. PT Republik Aero Dirgantara will be offering the drone in the Southeast Asian market.

Unmanned stealth fighter, KIZILELMA

Bayraktar KIZILELMA is distinguished by its low radar visibility and high maneuverability. With a maximum takeoff weight of 8.5 tons and a payload capacity of 1.5 tons, the aircraft maintains its "stealth" characteristics thanks to its ability to carry internal ammunition.

The KIZILELMA can detect targets using its own radar system (AESA) and shoot it down with its own domestically produced air-to-air missile. With its AI-powered autonomous formation flight and intelligent fleet operations, the drone is not dependent upon ground control for target acquisition, flying to an optimum spot and releasing its missiles.
