Airbus has been awarded the Symphonie contract by the French joint services directorate for defence infrastructure networks and information systems (DIRISI) for a period of seven years. It is part of the Descartes programme designed to modernise the telecommunication networks of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, the firm said today

Indonesias aircraft company PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) are collaborating to produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are capable of flying at a maximum height of 40,000 feet. China launched a new guided- missile frigate called 'Wuhai', which has stronger anti-submarine capabilities, in a commissioning ceremony held at a naval port in Dalian, north China's Liaoning province on Monday. The Type 056 corvette Wuhai, with good stealth performance and powerful surface attack and air defence capability, will undertake multiple missions such as costal patrol, fishing boats escort, attacking surface warships and submarine of the "enemy" independently or in joint operations
