In one of the single biggest destructions of Ukrainian armored equipment, some 49 tanks and 50 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) were destroyed in a Russian missile strike in the area of Mykolaiv.

"On June 22, high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the Nikolaev region destroyed 49 tanks with fuel for military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as up to 50 MRLS located in the hangars of combat vehicles, including those of foreign production," Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian defense ministry claimed during a regular press conference Tuesday.

"During the day, high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces also hit three bases for the repair of armored vehicles in the Nikolaev region, four command posts, manpower and military equipment in 18 districts," he said.

Russian forces have been targeting warehouses and supply routes of arms and ammunition, particularly that donated by the U.S. and its NATO partners to Ukraine. Kyiv currently has no answer to Russian long-range missiles fired from long range bombers such as the Tu-95 and Su-35 which operate from a distance well beyond the range of Ukrainian anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems.

Since the beginning of Russia’s ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine on February 24, 211 aircraft, 132 helicopters, 1,329 UAVs, 349 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,750 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 647 combat vehicles of multiple rocket launchers, 2,088 field artillery pieces and mortars, and also 3,818 units of special military vehicles.
