A group of Chinese army officials visiting the Army 2024 arms fair are thronging the exhibition of captured western armored vehicles and tanks which have become a big draw for foreign delegations visiting the fair currently on near Moscow.

In addition, the latest advances in Russian weapons on display at Army 2024 has proved to be of great interest to foreign delegations.

Military officials from foreign countries visiting Army 2024 include North Korean, Malian and of several countries from Africa. Also seen were military officials from Algeria, Tunisia and Niger.  Delegations from Myanmar and Indonesia are also expected to visit the event which is on till August 14.

The Army event showcasing mainly Russian land systems equipment has been a big attraction for countries denied access to western equipment or who want to see western technology at its best.

The captured tanks and armored vehicles such as the American Bradley and Abrams besides the German Leopard which are considered the best in the business have attracted much curiosity among visiting delegations.

Russian weapons export order book at $60 billion

The Army series of events since the start of the Ukraine war has led to an increase in the sale of Russian arms, according to Rostec First Deputy CEO Vladimir Artyakov.

In an interview with TASS on Monday, Artyakov said, “Since the beginning of the SVO (Special Military Operations), despite the sanctions, the export portfolio of orders has exceeded 60 billion dollars - this has never happened before. There is a good deferred demand for some models, which will be realized after the needs of the Russian army are met.”
