A pontoon bridge to replace an earlier destroyed bridge across the Seim River in the Kursk region was today struck with cluster munitions by Ukrainian Artillery.

The Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released a video showing the use of cluster munitions on crossings.

First, the SSO used FPV drones to target the machinery and equipment of a Russian pontoon-bridge unit between the villages of Zvannoe and Glushkovo. Subsequently, Ukrainian artillery engaged the position using cluster munitions. The strike damaged a Russian PP-91M pontoon fleet, based on the KamAZ-63501 chassis, and an EOV-3521 wheeled excavator, based on the Ural-4320.

Ukrainian artillery also targeted a second Russian crossing, with the attack guided by Ukrainian reconnaissance drones. According to the SSO, the Armed Forces employed the American M142 HIMARS rocket launcher for this operation, firing several shells with cluster warheads that covered the crossing area.

The SSO commented, "The video shows the effective damage by SSO operators to enemy engineering equipment in the Kursk region, as well as the detection and correction of HIMARS fire on bridges and pontoon crossings."

The second Russian crossing targeted was an attempt to construct a bridge over the Seim River between the villages of Glushkovo and Kobylki.

It is worth noting that on August 16, reports emerged that the Ukrainian military had destroyed a key bridge connecting border territories in the Kursk region with the right bank of the Seim River. This destruction followed two days of strikes, initially using the HIMARS rocket launcher, and later with high-precision bombs, likely Hammer or JDAMs, from the Ukrainian Air Force.

With these crossings disabled, part of the Glushkovsky district remains isolated from the main Russian forces to the north. Meanwhile, the Russian-Ukrainian border lies to the west, and advancing Ukrainian forces are situated to the east.
