Airbus has handed over first two of six H145M helicopters to the Republic of Cyprus, with the remaining deliveries to follow later this year.
The helicopters will be operated by the National Guard of the Republic of Cyprus.
The H145M is a military helicopter designed for training, special operations, troop transport, and light attack missions. It is equipped with the Airbus HForce weapons system, enabling it to carry guns, rockets, and missiles for light attack operations. The helicopter features crewed-uncrewed teaming capabilities, allowing integration into networked combat environments.
It can be reconfigured for various roles, including a light attack version with axial ballistic and guided weapons or a special operations variant with fast rappelling equipment. It also supports hoisting and external cargo operations.
The H145M is derived from the H145 light twin-engine helicopter and is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines with a full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system. It features the Helionix digital avionics suite, including a 4-axis autopilot and flight data management. The helicopter has a lower acoustic footprint than others in its category.
