The MAKS International Aviation and Space Salon, Russia's largest air show, has been officially postponed to 2026, Rostec State Corporation CEO Sergey Chemezov confirmed Monday.
“MAKS 2025 will not take place. The event has been rescheduled to next year. You can see what a situation we are currently living in,” Chemezov told reporters, referring to ongoing geopolitical challenges and the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Initially scheduled for July 2023, the biennial MAKS air show was first delayed to 2024. However, a Russian government order in mid-2024 led to the cancellation of the physical event. Organizers then shifted to an online format and announced that the next in-person edition would be held in 2025. That timeline has now been further extended.
In place of the physical exhibition, a virtual MAKS air show was held from July 23 to 28, 2024, on the official website aviasalon.com. The online event allowed Russian aerospace companies to showcase their developments and maintain outreach to both
The online platform enabled participating enterprises to post company profiles, present scientific innovations, and share videos and technical documentation. Various sections highlighted different domains of the aerospace industry, from civil aviation to space technologies.
