Indonesia lays keel for Offshore Patrol Vessel

Indonesian Minister of Defense’s Expert Staff for Social Affairs, Major General Rionardo, led the keel-laying of Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) 3 at PT Noahtu Shipyard on November 19.

PT Noahtu Shipyard Directr Adi Susanto said the keel laying signals the start of the vessel’s physical construction and demonstrates ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian Navy, and domestic shipbuilders in efforts to strengthen defense self-reliance.

The Expert Staff explained that the vessel will be equipped with a combat management system integrated with various sensors, weapons, and communication systems to optimize its capability in neutralizing threats.
