Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has signed a preliminary agreement with India’s Flamingo Aerospace to supply six Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft.

The agreement was announced during the Wings India 2026 International Aviation Exhibition at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad, where UAC, part of Russia’s Rostec State Corporation, and Flamingo Aerospace confirmed a strategic partnership focused on regional air connectivity in India. The planned delivery of six aircraft represents the first phase of the cooperation program.

Under the deal, UAC will also provide Flamingo Aerospace with a roadmap aimed at building aviation competencies in India. This includes the gradual expansion of aircraft assembly, modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul activities, alongside supporting infrastructure, subject to the signing of final contracts and regulatory approvals.

UAC said the preliminary agreement covers deliveries starting in 2028. “The Indian air travel market is growing at the fastest rate in the world, at 11% annually. It is currently the third largest,” said Vadim Badekha, CEO of United Aircraft Corporation.

Flamingo Aerospace has also expressed interest in other UAC programs, a move that could see the Indian company act as a partner for Russian civil aviation products in the local market.

The Il-114-300 is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft designed for regional operations, including flights from small airfields and short runways with limited infrastructure. It is powered by TV7-117ST-01 engines developed by Rostec-owned United Engine Corporation. The aircraft is certified for operation across a wide range of environments, from Arctic and mountainous regions to tropical and hot climates.
