Iran’s foreign minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation on regional developments and agreed to establish a joint military expert group to review recent claims.
This is according to a statement posted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran on X.
During the call, Araghchi discussed the situation arising from what Iran described as aggression by the U.S. and the Zionist regime against Iran.
Fidan told Araghchi that violation of Turkish airspace by Iranian ballistic missiles was unacceptable. Araghchi claimed no projectiles had been fired from Iran toward Turkey and stressed the need for vigilance against what he described as attempts by Israel to damage Iran’s relations with regional countries.
Fidan also congratulated Araghchi on the selection of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the Leader of Iran and highlighted the importance of maintaining what he described as deep and “brotherly relations” between Turkey and Iran.
The statement said both sides agreed that, following an understanding reached between the presidents of the two countries, a joint military expert group would be formed as soon as possible to examine the recent claims.
