AeroVironment, Inc. today announced the launch of Titan 4, the next-generation Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) solution designed to meet current and future drone threats on the battlefield and in security operations.

Titan 4 is a smaller, lighter, and more powerful system that uses Radio Frequency (RF) technology to detect and defeat Group 1 and 2 unmanned aerial systems (UAS), providing a portable and adaptable defense for mobile, dismounted, or fixed-site missions.

According to AeroVironment, Titan 4 is 17% lighter and 73% smaller than its earlier dual-chassis predecessor, now fitting into a compact single chassis. It delivers nearly 250% more transmit power, offering 540 watts of output across six RF bands, allowing it to neutralize both individual drones and swarms in complex environments.

The system can deploy in under five minutes, creating a protective dome over personnel and infrastructure. To boost airspace awareness, Titan 4 integrates AeroVironment’s Titan-SV system, which offers AI- and machine learning-based passive, long-range precision detection of aerial threats.

Titan 4 leads AeroVironment’s expanded Titan C-UAS suite, which now includes:

Titan-MS: A multi-sensor, AI-powered system for fixed-site use, fusing RF, radar, and optics to detect and defeat drone threats while also tracking human and vehicle movement.

Titan-EO/IR: A portable platform combining RF and Middle Wavelength Infrared (MWIR) sensors for full-spectrum airspace monitoring.

Titan-SV LOB: A fixed-site or vehicle-mounted solution offering precise 3D tracking of small UAS threats, interoperable with commercial and government systems.

Titan-SV MOSA/SOSA: A next-generation open-architecture sensor card, using modular frameworks for interoperability and scalability across defense platforms.

Domestically, Titan systems have been used for crowd protection at large public events and sports gatherings, while internationally, NATO allies, Latin American partners, and other allied nations have adopted Titan systems to strengthen their air defense against drone threats.
